School Districts of the Triangle

Wake County Public Schools

In addition to the Raleigh area, WCPSS serves suburbs like Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina, Apex, Morrisville, Knightdale, Zebulon, Wendell, and Rolesville.

Durham Public Schools

Durham County Public Schools doesn't just serve the city of Durham—small portions of Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and Morrisville extend into the area.

Orange County Public Schools

Orange County Public Schools serves the communities of Hillsborough, as well as parts of Durham and Mebane. Chapel Hill and Carrboro operate their own independent district.

Harnett County Public Schools

Dunn, Angier, Coats, and Lillington students all attend Harnett County Public Schools.

Johnston County Schools

Headquartered in Smithfield, JCS serves Clayton, Selma, Archer Lodge, Kenly, Benson, and parts of Willow Spring.

Chatham County Public Schools

Pittsboro, Siler City, and a small portion of Chapel Hill are zoned for Chatham County Public Schools. 

Franklin County Public Schools

Franklin County Schools is headquartered in Louisburg, and the district operates institutions in Youngsville and Franklinton.

Lee County Public Schools

Lee County Public Schools primarily operates in Sanford and Broadway. 

Granville County Public Schools

Creedmoor, Oxford, Butner, Stem, and Stovall are all zoned for Granville County Public Schools.
